Aliens make for some of the most interesting characters on television. They can come in all shapes and sizes, have interesting cultures far different from humans, and have a totally different code of ethics that they follow. Due to this, there are a huge range of alien characters out there. The ones this list is going to go over though, are the ones that we care about most.

Loveable aliens are those we would invite over to dinner, give a hug to, or just cry if we see them get hurt. Here are ten from television shows that gained a ton of fans.

Spock From Star Trek

Spock is one of the most famous alien characters out there. He is actually half alien, which is part of what makes him so interesting. He is half-human and half-Vulcan which gives him a mixed personality in a culture and race that finds a lot of human processes to be illogical.

It should be no surprise that he is on this list, as he has a huge fan following. He was also popular with the ladies for being exotic, clever, devilish looking, and being someone above game-playing.

The Doctor From Doctor Who

The Doctor is a special character since he has been played by 13 different lead actors. This was done through the plot device of regeneration, which is one of their many abilities. Everyone has a personal favorite Doctor, as they all have different personalities. For example, the latest Doctor is the first female Doctor out of the thirteen. The 12th was sarcastic, practical, and manipulative. The 10th was manic and had a love of human culture.

In other words, there is a Doctor for every kind of fan.

Marvin The Martian From Loony Toons

Existing since the 1940s, Marvin is a very classic alien character. He is from Mars and his outfit is inspired by the Roman god, Mars. He constantly tries to destroy Earth for various reasons like the fact that it obstructs his view of Venus.

Of television aliens, he is one of the more innocent despite trying to obliterate the Earth. He is one of those that you can safely leave on the television for the little kids. After all, his antics are played for humor and he never ever succeeds in his goals.

Goku From Dragon Ball

Goku is an international anime icon, and he is as loveable as they come. He was raised on Earth and is so innocent that he is often yelled at for being an idiot. He is the happy-go-lucky protagonist in a world full of fighting and world conquest. Most of the other characters started out hating him, but how can you stay mad at Goku? He always tries to make things right and typically just wants to have fun and eat a lot. He was especially a cute kid in the original Dragon Ball. However, his personality does not really change as he gets older.

Gir From Invader Zim

Being created by an alien race makes Gir an alien himself, and he is adorable. He is a robot that disguises himself as a dog while his owner, Zim, pretends to be a student. The dog costume is perfect for Gir, because is brain is quite dog-like. He is curious, dumb, and loving.

He is also incredibly hyperactive and energetic and it is fun to watch him annoy Zim. Since he is not actually a dog, he will eat anything and everything even if the thing is not actually edible. He is one of those characters that both children and adults can love for the same reasons.

ALF From ALF

ALF stands pretty different from others on this list since his design is a puppet in a sitcom. The main character, ALF, is an alien who crashes into a suburban neighborhood and moves in with a family called the Tanners. The show got four seasons and aired from 1986 to 1990.

ALF is a loveable alien because you see him slowly become a valued part of the Tanner household. Both the family and the alien learn from each other and the family protects him from being discovered by those that would do him harm.

Nibbler From Futurama

Nibbler with an alien that basically has two personalities. One is to be a dumb pet and the other is to be the ruler of a genius species.

The little grunts he makes is adorable and he eats just about anything. He also absolutely loves pets, in fact, his entire race of geniuses love pets. It is funny, but also incredibly cute. His name is also great.

Dart From Stranger Things

Poor poor little Dart. This alien came from the Upside Down and Dustin raised it as a pet for a while until it got too dangerous. I was both loveable and scary at the same time, because it was cute that it liked Three Musketeers chocolate bars, but it also turned into a Demodog whose species eat people. Before it was killed, it recognized Dustin so it did not attack. That broke just a few fan hearts.

Jumba’s Experiments From Lilo And Stitch: The Series

Stitch was not the only alien creation by Jumbo. Besides the film, Lilo and Stitch got their own series that explored all of Jumbo’s other alien experiments. The series got two seasons with over 60 episodes. In a way, it follows the same formula as the film. They find an alien and they to change it from bad to good.

Most if not all the alien designs are very cute and it’s easy to love both the badly behaving and the good behaving ones.

Starfire From Teen Titans

Starfire from the original Teen Titans was happy-go-lucky, powerful, kind, and funny. Most of her comedic moments have to do with not understanding certain words or Earth customs. She is one of those aliens that make Earth a better place and we have to be honest, all the Teen Titans are loveable.
