The only problem is that Andrea doesn’t care about fashion and is just there to further her career. As the film goes on, Andrea’s attitude toward the world of high fashion changes and so does she. Atonement (2007)
Although contemporary films often feature some really incredible clothes that we totally wish we could wear, period films that are set in another time also have some really amazing clothes. Although they may not be things that we would wear out today, they’re still super beautiful and interesting to see in films.
Atonement is an example of a period movie that features some totally incredible costumes. This movie is based on a novel by the same name and was released in 2007. It stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy as a couple who find themselves torn apart by a family member’s jealous plot.
Titanic (1997)
Some historical movies may feature amazing costumes, but they’re not always accurate. Titanic, released in 1997, is a romantic drama that is based on the maiden voyage and subsequent sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912. Unlike other historical movies that have great but not necessarily super accurate costumes, Titanic’s crew did a ton of work to make sure that the costumes are all highly accurate and really bring viewers back into the time period when the movie is set.
Jack and Rose’s love story is one that is forever in the hearts of movie lovers everywhere. Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
Crazy Rich Asians was released in 2018 and follows a woman named Rachel who finds herself in the spotlight after traveling to Singapore with her boyfriend for a friend’s wedding. Following their arrival, Rachel learns that not only is her boyfriend’s family rich and famous in Singapore but this wedding they’re attending is going to be the social event of the century.
Because the movie follows several members of Singapore’s social elite, the fact that they’re all going to be dressed in fabulous couture pieces is a given. From the extravagant wedding dress to the various outfits Rachel tries on during her makeovers, there’s so much for a fashion lover to see.
Clueless (1995)
Clueless is a classic teen comedy that was released in 1995. It stars Alicia Silverstone as Cher, a spoiled and superficial high school student who believes herself to be a world-class matchmaker. She decides to give a less popular student a makeover and everything changes for her.
The movie may have been released in the 1990s, but it still features a lot of outfits that are totally stylish today. Some of what Cher and her über popular friends wear in the film can be a little dated, but in a really fun and retro way. The Neon Demon (2016)
The Neon Demon is a much darker take on the world of fashion than some in this list, but is definitely still one for anyone who likes horror movies and Hollywood to watch. This movie was released in 2016 and stars Elle Fanning as a young and hopeful model named Jesse that moves to Los Angeles after turning 16 to get her career in the world of fashion started.
Unfortunately for Jesse, the other, more established models that are already living in LA quickly become jealous of her and grow to resent her almost immediately after her arrival. As Jesse’s presence in the fashion world grows, she begins to change and she becomes more and more of a target.
A Simple Favor (2018)
A Simple Favor is a movie that stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively as Stephanie and Emily, two moms who lead very different lives but become best friends after meeting at their kids’ school. Stephanie is a YouTuber who makes videos for her fellow moms while Emily is a high-powered businesswoman. After Emily goes missing, Stephanie starts to delve into her past to try to find out what happened to her.
This movie features two completely different moms and uses their wardrobes to highlight the differences between them. While Stephanie’s clothes are cute and quirky, Emily has a more distinguished, high fashion-filled closet. Either way, the clothes in this movie are almost as good as the plot.
Spice World (1997)
In the 90s, the British pop girl group Spice Girls was everywhere. They had catchy music, wore the latest in 90s fashions, and even had their own movie. Spice World was released in 1997 and featured the Spice Girls in a fictionalized series of events that lead up to a major concert that the group was going to be having.

Breakfast At Tiffany’s (1961)
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a classic film that was released in 1961 and stars Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, a young and superficial socialite living in New York City. The movie follows as she gets to know a new man that moved into her apartment building and the way he eventually falls for her.
The movie is a classic for a lot of reasons and one of them is the fashion featured in the film. Holly in her little black Givenchy dress and her Oliver Goldsmith sunglasses have become iconic images, burned into the minds of anyone who likes films or fashion.
Dick (1999)
Dick was released in 1999 and stars Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams star as Betsy and Arlene, two teenage girls whose lives change after they become the infamous whistleblower that exposed the Watergate scandal. The movie follows these two ditzy teenagers through various events in their average lives in the 1970s that eventually lead to the two of them taking part in such a huge political event.
Their costumes are straight out of the 1970s, which is already pretty fun for people who like fashion to see. But, it’s made even more interesting as their clothes change as the movie goes on and they start to grow up.
