Shutter Island was released in 2010 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Teddy, a U.S. Marshal in the 1940s who travels to Ashecliffe Hospital, a mental asylum off the coast of Boston where a patient recently disappeared. Along with his partner, Chuck, Teddy is tasked with trying to figure out how the patient got out of the hospital and where they could have gone.
As Teddy’s investigation unfolds, a lot of questions about what exactly is going on in this hospital open themselves up to him. The movie is eerie and it leaves viewers wondering what happened at this place and who Teddy should be trusting.
