Right now, Jessica Jones is the last one standing out of the Marvel Netflix series. It’s no secret that the series’ third season will be its last, as Marvel and the streaming giant go their separate ways. As such, many fans will be left with a hole in their to-watch list as Jessica joins the rest of the Defenders on the sidelines.

Understanding how difficult it is to find another show to enjoy, we’ve browsed through Netflix’s catalog and identified another 10 series to watch if you’re a fan of Jessica Jones. Naturally, there are many others to choose from, but these were the main ones that stood out to us.

The Defenders

If you loved Jessica Jones, of course, you’ll enjoy The Defenders since she’s a major part of it. Here, she was distrusting of her new teammates, specifically Matt Murdock, and struggled to adapt to the new superhero life. That said, there was a lot more focus on the likes of Daredevil and the sniveling Iron Fist than Jessica in the miniseries.

Unfortunately, with Marvel’s Netflix programming meeting its demise, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see this team again on the small screen. Even if The Defenders wasn’t the best of shows, it laid the groundwork for something bigger and better in the future.

Don’t Trust The B—- In Apartment 23

While Jones gained a reputation as a tough-as-nails private investigator who wasn’t shy of getting her knuckles dirty, there was also a funny and sardonic quality to her personality. This was thanks to actress Krysten Ritter, who possesses undeniable comedic talent.

If you haven’t watched it yet, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 is a side-splitting sitcom that’s available on Netflix. Starring Ritter as Chloe, a party girl who searches for roommates by asking for rent upfront and then behaves zany until they leave, the show lasted for two seasons and 26 episodes before being canceled. It’s the perfect type of series to binge in an entire day.

GLOW

GLOW might not be about superheroes per se, but it’s all about women with power (and body slams!). This Netflix series is a comedic take on the women’s professional wrestling circuit of the 1980s. GLOW is an acronym for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.

The show stars Alison Brie as Ruth “Zoya the Destroya” Wilder and Betty Gilpin as Debbie “Liberty Belle” Eagan, with numerous other well-known faces from Hollywood and professional wrestling. Not only does GLOW feature a star-studded cast, but it also holds near-perfect praise on Rotten Tomatoes for its two seasons.

Shadow

Shadow is like the perfect merger between Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. It’s Netflix’s first South African original series and features an action-packed story. The premise is simple: It’s all about an ex-cop who cannot feel pain and decides to take on the criminals rather than put his trust in the police.

If the crime-drama angle of Jessica Jones tickled your fancy, you’ll instantly fall in love with the seedy underworld setting of Johannesburg, where Shadrach “Shadow” Khumalo (Pallance Dladla) takes on the bad guys and cleans up crime. Seriously, wouldn’t it be cool to see a crossover episode between Jones and Shadow?

The Umbrella Academy

It’s crazy to think that the most popular superhero series on Netflix isn’t a Marvel or DC property. Instead, it’s The Umbrella Academy, an adaptation of Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá’s seminal comic book series for Dark Horse Comics. The numbers for the show are insane, with Netflix reporting that over 45 million households watched Season 1 during its first month of release.

If you’re in the mood for a superpowered series with a delicious twist (or two), The Umbrella Academy knows how to deliver the goods. In addition, it’s an incredibly funny show, which knows when to take itself a little less seriously and embrace the silliness of its characters.

The OA

There’s a fear that we could actually understate how terrific The OA actually is. It’s one of those shows that’s difficult to describe as it’s the sum of all its parts, rather than just a single thing. While both seasons are relatively short at eight episodes each, there’s not an episode wasted on filler, unlike some other shows on the streaming platform.

Those who love the combination of mystery and the supernatural will instantly put The OA at the top of their to-watch list. There’s a reason that every critic has raved about this show and it’s cemented itself as one of Netflix’s best series.

Daredevil

Out of all the Marvel Netflix shows, the one that’s closest to Jessica Jones in terms of tone and quality is Daredevil. While the two characters crossed paths in The Defenders, it would’ve been great to see them interact more closely in their respective series.

With the cancelation of Daredevil sending fans into outrage and kicking off numerous revival petitions, it’s pretty evident that this was the most popular of the Marvel Netflix shows and no-one expected it to end. At the moment, though, it looks like there’s too much red tape between Marvel and Netflix for us to see this show revived (at least for the next few years).

Altered Carbon

Altered Carbon is certainly more violent, raunchier and leaning towards the sci-fi side than Jessica Jones. Even so, its golden thread involves a mystery where people do some of the most despicable things to each other, much in the same way as Kilgrave did to Jessica in the first season.

The show also features an ensemble cast, including Joel Kinnaman in the lead, as well as breathtaking cinematography. At times, you’ll actually take a step back and wonder if it isn’t a high-budget Hollywood blockbuster that you’re watching rather than a series. In good news, Season 2 has been announced; however, there is no release date available at present.

Dead To Me

The most recent show on this list is Dead to Me, starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. It might’ve only aired in early May, but it’s already picking up positive reviews and plaudits, with many calling for Applegate and Cardellini to be nominated for awards.

While the subject matter might be dissimilar from Jessica Jones, the humor of the series is dark and sardonic. Yeah, things are a little gloomy and there’s the topic of heartache, but the show ultimately knows how to bring it back and make us look at the bright side of life. It’s about moving on, even when you don’t want to.

The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

Apart from the fact that Sabrina and Jessica are comic book characters, there’s nothing similar between The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Jessica Jones. One is a supernatural horror series and the other is a detective-action show. Surprisingly, though, it’s the lead characters’ quirky and eccentric personalities that’ll appeal to the same type of viewers.

In many ways, both Sabrina and Jessica are learning to deal with their powers and navigate through the world. It isn’t easy and they make many mistakes along the way, but both their journeys are exciting to watch and that’s exactly what the audience is there for.
