With The Child and Din Djarin flying away from the remnants of the Empire, the first season of The Mandalorian has come to a close. This revolutionary series finally brought the live-action Star Wars universe to the small screen and with it a host of new characters and worlds to obsess about.

But, now that your weekly watch is over, you must be in need of a new series to watch. Perhaps you’re looking to extend your knowledge of the Star Wars Universe after that Darksaber reveal? Or maybe you want to see what other shows you’ve missed since tuning into The Mandalorian. No matter what, we got something here for everyone.

The Clone Wars

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was the final Star Wars based project that George Lucas ever had involvement with. This CGI animated series focused on the events between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, featuring the adventures of Anakin Skywalker, his Padawan Ahsoka Tano, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

This is some of the best Star Wars storytelling of the franchise, spanning into multiple genre types, and offering brand new stories for forgotten characters. It righted many of the wrongs of the Prequel trilogy and expanded the Universe like never before. Also, it has tons of Mandalorian lore for fans of the series.

Star Wars Rebels

The groundwork of lore, worldbuilding, and characters was finally shown its full potential through Star Wars: Rebels. The first animated series of the new era of Star Wars, this series told the story of a band of Rebels and the forming of the alliance.

Unlike the anthology format of Clone Wars, Rebels was a continuing story of a select few characters and their place in the galaxy. But, through it some of the biggest stories of Star Wars were told. It is essential viewing for any Mandalorian fan and anyone who finishes The Clone Wars.

Star Wars Resistance

Perhaps the least beloved of the current animated lineup, Star Wars: Resistance is currently in its second and final season. Filling in some of the gaps of the Sequel Trilogy, this series focuses on Resistance and First Order spies during the Second Galactic Civil War.

Though far less essential in regards to Mandalorian mythology, this series is still a great watch for any Star Wars fan. Its art style is unlike anything else, utilizing Anime inspired animated through CGI. If you’re a fan of the newest Star Wars trilogy, you’ll want to binge all of season one, currently available on Disney+.

Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars

Though no longer canon, this is one of the best animated Star Wars series and animated series, ever made. From Samurai Jack brainchild Genndy Tartakovsky, Star Wars: Clone Wars was unlike anything before it. With little dialogue, the story was moved by action and inference, containing far more artifice than most Star Wars material.

These small vignettes are unavailable to stream but are available on DVD. They are a really fun watch because they show the beginnings of some of the best characters and events that would later be made canon through the CGI Clone Wars. If you need some unseen Star Wars content, this is your best option.

The Imagineering Story

If you are looking for something new to watch on Disney+, but you need a taste change from The Mandalorian, maybe you should give this docuseries a try. The Imagineering Story is a multi-part documentary series that tracks the highs and lows of the full history of the Walt Disney Imagineers.

These craftsmen and women created some of the most iconic and innovative rides and attractions in the history of theme parks, and this documentary series is a great way to track their entire history. From The Haunted Mansion to Galaxy’s Edge, this documentary series is a fascinating watch for any Disney fan and the second-best series on the streaming service.

Agent Carter

Perhaps you just can’t wait for those new Marvel series coming in the next year to Disney+. If so, then you should give Agent Carter a watch. This is one of the more underrated series from the MCU, expanding the world of S.H.I.E.L.D. better than even Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Hayley Atwell returns in this series as the titular spy, killing it once again as one of the best characters in the MCU. If you are looking for a great genre series after the excitement of The Mandalorian, this would be a great alternative.

The Movies That Made Us

Star Wars is maybe the most beloved blockbuster ever made. No other movie has ever reached its heights of popularity. But, there are still many beloved movies that have captured the hearts of the masses. This docuseries from the creators of The Toys That Made Us focuses on just that.

This first season explores the production and impact of Home Alone, Dirty Dancing, Die Hard, and Ghostbusters. Bringing together fans, creators, actors, and more, the series celebrates the movies that everyone loves.

Watchmen

If you’ve been spending all this time on Dinsey+, you might need a bit of a break from family-friendly entertainment. But, perhaps you still need some genre storytelling (just with more bite). There isn’t any better option then the next few series currently streaming.

Firstly is Watchmen, a sequel of sorts to Alan Moore’s lauded graphic novel. Turning the world on its head and adapting it for a new age, this series is unlike anything else you’ve ever seen. Like The Mandalorian, it takes many familiar aspects of this world and alters them enough to create something brand new.

The Witcher

Star Wars is first and foremost a fantasy series. While The Mandalorian embraces the western and samurai elements of this tradition, it also falls in line with hard fantasy. When it comes to series such as that, The Witcher is your best bet.

While many critics might not agree, fans have co-opted The Witcher and hailed it as the successor to Game of Thrones. For mature audiences only, this brooding fantasy series stars an often shirtless Henry Cavill as a mutant monster hunter.

His Dark Materials

A wide-Reaching mythology that is friendly and scary for both kids and adults. This description would fit both The Mandalorian and His Dark Materials. This series is based on the books of Phillip Pullman and seeks to right the wrongs of the much-maligned film adaptation of The Golden Compass.

The Daemons of this world will satisfy fans of Baby Yoda, and the wide scoped adventure will attract anyone to the series. Add that to an already fantastically assembled cast featuring James McAvoy and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and what you get is a must watch fantasy series for everyone.
