Back in the day, Gilmore Girls was all the rage. Since this show has ended, many fans have rewatched it over and over, in order to relive the best moments of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, a fast-talking and coffee-drinking mother and daughter duo.

But how else can the hole be filled? Could anything else fill the void? This dramedy series can obviously not be replaced, but there are several other TV shows with similar themes and characters that fans of Gilmore Girls may enjoy.

And we have listed 10 of them out down below, for everyone to fall in love with and watch!

Parenthood

The main takeaway from Gilmore Girls is the bond between a mom and her daughter, and family ties are the central focus in Parenthood. In this series, Zeek and Camille Braverman have four children - Adam, Sarah, Crosby, and Julia - and fans see their grandkids/kids, too, as this large and loving group goes through the ups and downs of life. It brings about tears and laughter in a beautiful way, which makes for great TV. Plus, does anyone notice any familiar faces in the accompanying image here? Yes, Parenthood stars Lauren Graham (Lorelai) as Sarah, and Peter Krause plays Adam AND is dating Lauren Graham in real life!

7th Heaven

Another television show that is all about family - the good, the bad and all the in-between stuff - is 7th Heaven. Many people grew up watching Eric and Annie Camden and their children - Matt, Mary, Lucy, Simon, Ruthie, and twins Sam and David. This is another one that can cause many tears and many giggles, and it leaves fans with warm and fuzzy feelings, like Gilmore Girls does. And another fun thing about this show is all the guest stars, such as the Olsen twins, Usher, Kaley Cuoco, Lance Bass, Leighton Meester, Ashley Tisdale, Dave Franco, Aaron Carter, Ashley Benson, Haylie Duff, Ashlee Simpson, and even Matt Czuchry (Gilmore Girls’ Logan!).

Grey’s Anatomy

We have one more emotional series to offer up here - Grey’s Anatomy. This medical TV show is in its 15th season, which means that there are so many episodes to watch, so many characters to fall in love with and so many storylines to get pulled into, which is a great thing for everyone who is missing watching Lorelai and Rory! So many people are already quite obsessed with this particular series, and we hope it has helped ease the pain a bit for fans of Gilmore Girls (though, we know, it doesn’t come close to being as good, ha).

Sex And The City

Okay, Gilmore Girls is certainly full of emotions, but it is also fluffy, light and girly, which is why we are now including SATC. This is a go-to show for people who enjoy gathering up their own girlfriends or their own moms/daughters, in order to watch something that focuses on women and their lives. We get Carrie, her writing and her relationships… Samantha, her humor and her style… Miranda, her professionalism and her knowledge… Charlotte, her kids and her sweetness… and lots of life lessons on love, cosmos and friendship. It truly has something for everyone!

Gossip Girl

Despite being somewhat of a family show, Gilmore Girls had its fair share of secretive thrills and interesting excitements… but not as many as Gossip Girl! This television series has everything and then some, as it pushes the boundaries while highlighting the lives of affluent and attractive friends on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Its scenes can definitely get steamier than any that featured Lorelai or Rory, but it seems like a natural suggestion when thinking about what the watch next. The New York sights, the fashion, the relationships… This is a good one.

Pretty Little Liars

On a similar note, we have Pretty Little Liars. This television show is about a group of friends who are tormented by someone called “A”. It is full of mystery, as the main characters (Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily) try to figure out what happened to their leader (another friend, who is named Ali), who is messaging them, and why it is all happening. And, of course, there is one other huge reason why fans of Gilmore Girls should watch PLL: They were filmed in the same spot, so they feature the same buildings, church, town square, and so on!

Charmed

Throughout the course of Gilmore Girls, Lorelai and Rory fell in and out of love, they lost people who were close to them, and they fought, but no matter what, they loved each other.

In Charmed, relationships came and went, major characters passed away, and demons were constantly lurking around, yet these lovely ladies always shared the love with one another, with their innocents, and with their other family members. Prue, Piper, Phoebe, and Paige - the sisters and witches of this supernatural series - went through a lot, but their special bond also makes for great television.

New Girl

On a lighter note, we suggest watching New Girl. This is another popular television show that many people who are here with us today have probably watched. The main reason it is being linked to Gilmore Girls right here and right now is due to the quirkiness; Zooey Deschanel stars in this series as Jessica Day, a young woman who wears bright dresses, who sings silly songs, who is into unique things, and who deeply cares for those around her. Many of these traits are also seen in Lorelai and Rory, who are original, caring, and wildly entertaining, too.

This Is Us

If anyone is not watching This Is Us, go do so now! We would probably recommend this show to anyone who was a fan of any show, but we are definitely including it on this list; like Gilmore Girls, it focuses on family, it may cause people to cry (okay, it certainly will), it has funny moments, it has lovable characters, and it is one that fans want to watch over and over, as we feel like we know the Pearsons… like we feel like we are the Gilmores! Yes, there are so many great TV series out there, but this is one of the best.

Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life

And, of course, if anyone is missing Gilmore Girls, they can just watch the revival that landed on Netflix a couple of years ago - Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life. In this four-part series, fans are transported right back to Stars Hollow. We have jumped into the future. We pick up with our favorite characters. And everyone gets to find out who ended up with whom, where everyone is, what became of certain people and things… and that ending… man! We are definitely ready for more episodes! Until then, we will just go rewatch the original series for the fifth time…
