Even though most of the characters in the world of Harry Potter have likely never heard of any of the movies and TV shows that we like here in the Muggle world, that doesn’t stop us from thinking about the Hogwarts houses that our favorite characters would be sorted into. At Hogwarts, there are four different houses and incoming students are sorted into one of them, based on the traits that live inside them.
Ravenclaw is one of the four houses. Although it’s not the one that Harry and his friends are sorted into so it’s not a huge focus of the series, serious fans of the series will definitely be familiar with this house. This house is known for being witty, intellectual, and focused on their studies. Do those traits remind you of a favorite TV show character? There are definitely a lot of characters on different TV shows that would fit into the different Hogwarts houses and it’s a ton of fun to sort our favorites into their house!

Rory Gilmore (Gilmore Girls)
Rory Gilmore and her mom, Lorelai, are the two main characters of the series Gilmore Girls. The two of them live in a small, quiet town in New England where Lorelai owns an inn and Rory is a student, going through high school and college in the series. The two of them have a close relationship and fans of the series love their quirky banter.
Rory Gilmore is definitely funny and unique, just like her mom, but while her mom would be better suited to Gryffindor or Hufflepuff with her caring nature, Rory is definitely a Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws are known for being studious and intellectual, two traits that definitely fit Rory well. She didn’t get into Yale for no reason!
Ezra Fitz (Pretty Little Liars)
Ezra Fitz is a recurring character in the dramatic teen series Pretty Little Liars. He’s the high school English teacher in Rosewood and becomes entangled in the web of secrets and lies that “A” has the Liars in after he begins a relationship with Aria Montgomery, one of his students and a main character in the series.
The fact that Ezra is an English teacher should definitely clue anyone who isn’t into Pretty Little Liars into the fact that he’s a perfect fit for Ravenclaw. He loves to read and he’s so interested in learning and academia that he became a teacher himself. That’s such a Ravenclaw thing to do!
Bonnie Bennett (The Vampire Diaries)
Even though The Vampire Diaries has ‘vampire’ in the title, we all know that these blood suckers aren’t the only supernatural creatures in the series. There are also sirens, witches, siphoners, and a whole host of other supernatural creatures causing drama in Mystic Falls. Bonnie Bennett, a witch who discovers her powers in the early parts of the series, is one of them.
Bonnie is best friends with the main character, Elena Gilbert, and comes from a long line of powerful witches that have been in Mystic Falls for centuries. After Bonnie discovers that she has magic powers, she has to decide how she’s going to use them. Being a perfect fit for Ravenclaw, Bonnie decides to learn all about her magical abilities and how best to use them to help others. Good thing this smart witch decided to be a good witch!
Sam Winchester (Supernatural)
Sam Winchester is one of the two Winchester brothers and a main character in the series Supernatural. Along with his brother, Dean, Sam travels around the country investigating and fighting off strange supernatural monsters and creatures that are causing problems in the mortal world.
Considering the fact that there are so many creatures and monsters in the Supernatural world, Sam has a lot he has to learn! Luckily, this Ravenclaw totally loves to research and has no problem reading all about the monsters and demons that the two of them encounter. Sam is definitely the smart brother, especially considering he was in law school before he dropped out to look for his dad!
Jughead Jones (Riverdale)
Riverdale is a dramatic teen TV show that is based on the Archie comics and features the same characters, but in a much darker and more intense set of storylines than the comics have. One of these iconic characters that made the transition from the comics to the show is Jughead Jones, best friend of Archie.
Jughead is typically the narrator of the episodes and believes that the fact that he’s so intellectual and artsy stops him from fitting in with the other residents of Riverdale. He’s always working on his novel and is definitely more of a deep, brooding type than the other characters, making him perfect for Ravenclaw.
Eric Forman (That ’70s Show)
Eric Forman is one of the main characters from That ’70s Show and although this series was set before Harry Potter was even born, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t characters in the show that would definitely fit into the different Hogwarts houses.
Throughout the series, Eric Forman is shown to be a little bit more intellectual and definitely a lot more on the geeky side than his friends. He loves things like Star Wars and comic books. His personality is witty and at times, even a little sarcastic but he still cares deeply about his friends.
Rainbow Johnson (Black-ish)
Rainbow Johnson is one of the main characters of the sitcom Black-ish and is the mother of the Johnson family. She’s married to Andre and the two of them have an adorable family together. The series focuses on their family life and the personal lives of each character.
In the series, Rainbow grew up with a pretty quirky family - something we’ll get to see more of on the future episodes of the show’s second spin-off series, Mixed-ish, which premiered recently. Rainbow is a doctor, which means she had to spend a lot of time in school. She takes her career seriously and it’s obvious that those hours in the library did not go to waste for this Ravenclaw!
Spencer Hastings (Pretty Little Liars)
Spencer Hastings is one of the main characters in Pretty Little Liars. She’s one of the four Liars, the best friends in the series that become the targets of the mysterious “A” and their messages. Each of the Liars definitely has their own separate personality, meaning that many fans of the show have a favorite main character.
Of the four Liars, Spencer is by far the most serious and studious one. Although “A” gets in the way of her studies at different points in the series, Spencer is the one that always seems to have the answers to what’s going on and is always ready to hit the books to research and study the solutions to their problems.
Evan Huang (Fresh Of The Boat)
Evan Huang is one of the three children in the series Fresh Off the Boat. He’s Eddie’s youngest brother and, of the three brothers, is the one most likely to be sorted into Ravenclaw. The series is set in the 90s when Harry was going to school, which makes this even more perfect.
In the series, Evan is always the one that seems to be getting up to something - but in a good way. Evan is determined, intelligent, and seems to be so much more mature than other kids his age. He’d rather have his nose in a book or be talking to the adults than playing with toys any day.
Stiles Stilinski (Teen Wolf)
Stiles Stilinski is one of the main characters in the supernatural teen drama Teen Wolf. He’s the best friend of the main character and the first person to find out when Scott has been bitten and becomes a werewolf.
Throughout the series, Stiles is always the person who is researching and trying to search for answers to the problems that arise in Beacon Hills. If he were to leave Beacon Hills and make his way to Hogwarts, Stiles would definitely be sorted into Ravenclaw.
