Sony’s Morbius has had its first trailer released and it’s already started speculation on the studio wanting to create the Sinister Six for the first time on the big screen. This is something that Sony has been trying to achieve for a while, but there is a large possibility for the team’s debut.

However, the members of the Six would have to come from across the Spider-Verse that has been created thus far, in Sony’s films and in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here are 10 characters who could be included in the Sinister Six for their first outing.

VENOM

Tom Hardy’s Venom was the first character to enter Sony’s larger Spider-verse and for the most part, he was very successful. Fans seemed to gravitate towards the film, enjoying it as a sort of superhero throwback, with slightly more violent action sequences.

In fact, people are already looking for crossover opportunities for the character. We don’t know how the symbiote would react to Peter Parker swinging around the city, so perhaps Venom would start life on the Sinister Six before charting a path to redemption.

CARNAGE

Of course, the villain that will be surfacing in the next symbiote film has already been introduced. Played by the talented Woody Harrelson, Carnage is set to make an appearance in the sequel and is sure to wreak havoc in Venom’s life.

The serial killer is far more dangerous than any threat that we’ve seen in Sony’s Spider-verse so far and could make for an unpredictable addition to the Sinister Six. The only problem is that Carnage isn’t too good at playing well with others.

MORBIUS

It’s obvious that Morbius is one of the central characters for this discussion, as it is his trailer that has prompted the Sinister Six idea in the first place. He seems awfully familiar with the Vulture and there’s something villainous about Jared Leto’s performance.

Whether he’s an anti-hero or a straight-up bad guy, we expect to see Morbius form some part of the original Sinister Six. The vampire-esque creature would serve as one of the more powerful members of the team but could also end up seeking redemption.

VULTURE

The Vulture was actually featured in the Morbius trailer, portrayed by a returning Michael Keaton. It seems extremely likely therefore that one of the best Spider-Man villains will probably be suiting up for a return to villainy as part of a new team.

Vulture could absolutely be the brains of the operation. He’s already lead a pretty successful team in the past and he’s certainly looking for some kind of revenge on the web-head. It could even be him that actually assembles the unit in the end.

SHOCKER

If Vulture is assembling the team it makes sense that Bokeem Woodbine’s Shocker would also be recruited for the job. The character has previous experience of working with a team and has only recently acquired the Shocker gauntlet.

Although he hasn’t been given a major focus so far, he has enough abilities and a cool costume that he could make for a fun addition to the team. There’s a long history between the characters in the comics so we hope he gets his due on the big screen.

MYSTERIO

The master of illusion is apparently dead, but Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio has pulled off bigger tricks than faking a death (although he has faked death as well). Mysterio is ultimately responsible for the unmasking and framing of Spider-Man.

This has played into the wider universe but we imagine that Mysterio isn’t done there. He could absolutely act as a shock final villain to complete the team, surprising Peter since he’d assumed that he was dead that whole time.

TINKERER

The Tinkerer may not be an official member of the team but he will play a vital role no matter what combination of villains will be introduced as part of the Sinister Six. Every good team will need proper suits and gadgets.

The Tinkerer can produce all manner of weaponry in order to take down the web-head. We can imagine him upgrading many of these villains on this list and may even be able to create more powerful technology for Mysterio to use.

PROWLER

The Prowler hasn’t been introduced as an official villain, but Donald Glover’s charm has certainly made the role very interesting. He’s the uncle to Miles Morales and has been displayed as a petty criminal at best. All that can change though.

With a few upgrades from the Tinkerer as well as some financial motivation, Prowler can be added to the team very easily. He’d be working at a completely different level to the rest of the team, unsure about every step and perhaps could be a betrayer.

SCORPION

The Scorpion is yet to suit up and all we’ve actually seen of him is a tattoo on his neck. However, we know he’s looking to seek revenge on Spidey and chances are he’ll feel a lot better doing so when he’s amongst a criminal team.

The Scorpion is one of the most vicious criminals on this list and it would be no surprise to see the Tinkerer a full-on mechanical costume for him to fight Spider-Man with. He’d be a very cinematic addition to this growing roster.

CHAMELEON

The Chameleon hasn’t even been shown to be a villain yet but we’re just waiting for Dmitri to turn on Fury and the team he was working with, to take down the annoying brat Peter Parker. He’s kept his cards very close to his chest so far.

We guarantee that he has the technology to change his appearance though and there’s probably an ulterior motive here. It will be a great twist when another character is revealed to be Dmitri in disguise, betraying Peter and setting the evil plan into motion.
